The combination of the Parka system products results in weathertight, draft-free, well-insulated walls and windows, with a robust connection to the new cladding. Improved indoor air quality is created with a balanced-pressure heat-recovery ventilation system.
Adding any load to a building requires a condition assessment of the existing wall and foundation. Some foundations may be in need of repair. The Parka system when using 75mm of Rockwool and a timber weatherboard adds approximately 15kg/m2 to the existing structure.
Every home is a little different, which leads to Step 2.

Using common ‘external insulation’ details, a designer combines the knowledge of your building (what the climate is, what frame material the system will fix to) and use an energy modelling tool to predict how your home can perform. You might need 50mm of insulation blanket or 150mm. This check before building ensures you get what you need, not someone’s guess!

Installing the materials onsite is mostly done from the outside, avoiding the need to move yourself or your tenants out. The disruption when removing and replace windows is minor. Your builder can do all this work, and we can recommend several builders who have worked with or know the system.
Installing ADHERO eliminates drafty walls. This step involves sealing all potential air leakages to prevent unwanted airflow through the walls which otherwise lead to energy loss and inconsistent temperature control. Using proven, reliable sealing techniques and materials, we ensure your home can maintain a steady, comfortable environment. This not only enhances energy efficiency but also prevents moisture accumulation, reducing the risks of mould and damp-related health issues.
In an airtight home, maintaining air quality is easy and silent. Parka Wrap uses mechanical ventilation systems designed to constantly circulate fresh, filtered air throughout your home. These systems are equipped with heat recovery that retains warmth from outgoing air, ensuring energy efficiency while providing a healthier indoor environment. This continuous supply of air helps to remove stale, damp air and supports overall occupant health. You can still open your windows and enjoy the outside sounds! You can also keep them closed to avoid the sounds you dont want and the bugs that bite at night.
Quality Control is simple. Every step and connection in the Parka Wrap process is visible. Each layer can be checked visibly before the next layer is applied.
